Wonder

I had previously introduced you to my cat, Thea. Here's my other, Wonder, doing what she does best, sleep!

Snow!

Before moving here, I assumed that everywhere in Germany gets a lot of snow in the winter. To my dismay, this is not the case. Last year, Ramstein only got a few dustings of snow. This year has been somewhat better. In fact, all day Wednesday, it snowed! However, the ground was fairly warm, so only a bit of it stuck. However, it was enough for me to build a snowman in my back yard.

For those of you who are thinking, "she's too old to be building snowmen!", I say, you're only as old as you feel!

So below is my meager attempt at a snowman! Sorry that the pictures are so dark! The snow had mostly melted by the next day.

It's amazing how changing the angle of the pictures can change the expression of the snowman!

Fireworks in Germany!

I wanted to share some of the excitement of New Year's Eve in Germany. Around midnight, a couple of friends and I were trying to meet up with another friend and were parked at a gas station wating for her. In retrospect, this was probably not the smartest place to be as evidenced by the below video.

I know things are a bit hard to make out in the video (you can ignore the first 20-30 seconds), but basically, we were standing at an intersection and people were setting off fireworks all around us, some just a few feet from our heads! It was a very unique experience!
